Study: Men Who Can Do More Than 40 Push-Ups Less At Risk Of Heart Disease!!

Push-ups have long been well-liked — with men specifically — for building shoulder, pec, tricep, and ab muscles.

However, being a master of the move is also doing a great deal more good than simply honing your physique.

According to a new study, men who can complete 40 push-ups are considerably less in danger of heart condition — that remains the leading reason for mortality across the world — than people who can manage fewer than 10.

In fact, men who are can do completely over than40 consecutive push-ups were found to own a 96% reduction within the incident of cardiovascular disease events compared with people who can’t.

Researchers from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health assessed one,104 active, male firefighters over the course of ten years.

The mean age of the men was 39.6 and the mean body mass index (BMI) was 28.7.

Each man’s push-up capability and submaximal treadmill exercise tolerance (aerobic capability) was measured at the start of the study, so they underwent a physical examination and health and medical questionnaire each year.

However, the researchers show that the study cannot prove cause and result, and also note that the results might not apply to ladies or men of different ages who are less active.

These push-ups had to be performed “in time with a pendulum set at 80 beats per minute,” — basically40 push-ups in a few minutes.

Over the 10-year study, 37 heart disease-related events were reported, and everyone but one of these incidents occurred in men who couldn’t complete 40 push-ups within the initial physical assessment.

Researchers found that push-up ability was a higher marker of the probability of suffering from cardiovascular disease-related issues than the treadmill test.
